On June 11, 2009 while on their way back to Las Vegas from the Grand Canyon, a family on their yearly vacation spotted a cylindrical object surrounded by a diamond-shap0ed light.
After several attempts to take a photo of the object they finally succeeded, at which point the object disappeared.

We were having our yearly vaction.We went to Las Vegas and headed out to the Grand Canyon.On our way back to Las Vegas, we saw a cylinder surrounded or consumed in diamond shaped light.We pulled out the camera and tried to take a picture but the camera's battery died.We tried again, but it died again. Finally we got a very good picture.Then it was gone.

Maybe this one IS a weather balloon. i don't mean to dismiss it, it actually just looks like one (unlike many so-called "weather balloons"). It's even the correct way up.
